Dear visitor!
Welcome to this blog about Asia!
Asia is a huge continent, at the same time worldly, spiritual, primitive, modern, dynamic, full of energy, complicated and magical. It is the origin of many spiritual ways, arts and practices. It is a part of the world in every corner full of people, gods, yogi, artists of all directions. Also millions of hard working modern and/or traditional people, farmers, city people. A multitude of colors, smells, voices in many dialects, tunes, sounds and religious rituals.
Most of my knowledge of and my visits to Asia, until now, were just virtual from books, movies and many many photo’s and articles on the Internet. But I visited and lived in Indonesia and I saw and experienced many elements that can be found in other Asian regions also.
So do not expect that I shall explain Asia here. This blog is meant to be a record of my studies and readings about Asian countries and regions, their cultures and religions. At last you will only be able to read about a few aspects of Asia and about my and others’ reactions on them. I expect that this blog shall be never completed, Asia cannot be caught within the limitations of a blog or a website. What you can find here is a record of my process of discovery.
What I shall write here shall not have a logical order.
I want to start with Tantra. After it I shall go to Japan trying to write an impression of modern lifestyle there in the beginnings of the 21st century. What shall come after it. I do not know yet.
I started with Tantra, because it intrigues me. It seems to be totally contradictory with all I read until now about Indian philosophies, that all preach peace, quietness, abstinence from the world and it’s carnal passions. India is busy everywhere and noisy and full of shouting contradictions of all kinds and cursing, hard colors around every corner.
